Impact of Internet Usage on Academic Performance of the Student Essay Example for Free
Impact of Internet Usage on Academic Performance of the Student Essay Correlation and regression techniques were used to find out the strength and direction of the relationship. Findings ââ¬â Internet is one of the beneficial tools in this era of IT world not only for business but for academic point of view and enhances the skills and capabilities of students which assist them in studies and in professional life. Student with high CGPA use more internet for their studies and gain more knowledge and information across the world. Research limitations/implications ââ¬â The self-report criteria are a limitation. Future research should employ more objective measures of internet use. Also, antecedents of internet use might be explored in other developing economies. I have chosen limited universities and disciplines from a single city Lahore. Practical implications ââ¬â To encourage internet usage intentions, it appears worthwhile to create in potential users a sense that the technology is useful, easy to use, and that others have expectations regarding its usage. Keywords: Information Technology (IT), Internet, Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) Introduction Throughout the world, information and communications technologies (ICTs) are changing the face of education. It has been argued that the transformation of education may be the most important of the many practical revolutions sparked by computer technology. Just as computers are about to replace books (some would argue this has already happened) as our main source of information globally, computers will come to occupy the central position in education once occupied by books. The Internet was initially developed by the US Defense Department and was at one time only popular within the research community. Its ability to share information across organizations and to interact with people at low cost has gradually enticed other sectors to explore its use. Today, the Internet has an impact on every facet of our life including business operation, education, communication, entertainment, social activity, shopping, and so on. Many universities around the world are expanding their investment in information technology (IT), and specifically the Internet, and are actively promoting Internet use. From a studentââ¬â¢s perspective, learning using online tools is multidimensional. It may entail a multitude of variables such as prior student knowledge of IT, experience in its usage, perceptions of IT usage, computer competencies, and background demographics. The Internet is one of the greatest recent advancement in the world of information technology and has become a useful instrument that has fostered the process of making the world a global village. The Internet provides several opportunities for the academia. It is a mechanism for information dissemination and a medium for collaborative interaction between individuals and their computers without regard for geographic limitation of space. The word Internet is derived from two words: ââ¬Å"internationalâ⬠and ââ¬Å"networkâ⬠. The Internet therefore can be defined as an international computer network of information available to the public through modem links so internet is a worldwide system of linked computers networks. The Internet is the worldââ¬â¢s largest and most widely used network. It is an international network of networks that is a collection of hundreds of thousands of private and public networks all over the world. There are rich and varied learning experiences available on the Internet that would have been inconceivable just a short while ago. The Internet has a range of capabilities that organizations are using to exchange information internally or to communicate externally with other organizations. The primary infrastructure for e-commerce, e-banking, e-business, e-learning and virtual library is provided by the Internet technology. The Internet provides several opportunities for all academia, business organizations, the employed and the unemployed, the young and the old. The Internet is a ââ¬Ëliveââ¬â¢ constantly ââ¬Ëmovingââ¬â¢, theoretically borderless, potentially infinite space for the production and circulation of information. The Internet might thus be described as a ââ¬Ësea of informationââ¬â¢, containing texts which are not housed between library and bookshop walls and subject areas span across all fields of knowledge. The Internet can be used for other things besides email. One can listen to international radio station on research and education on the Internet, read national dailies of other countries, speaks to friends around the global, read books and other materials on the Internet. The list of things that can be done on the Internet is a very long one. The Internet contains more information than the worldââ¬â¢s largest libraries with access to the Internet one can retrieve information from the worldââ¬â¢s largest information database. Objectives of study A study of different disciplines was conducted to identify the intensity of internet usage by student who belongs to different disciples. The purpose of my studies is to evaluate weather is their any relationship between the usage of internet and students academics performance. To better understand the relationship how the Internet affects university students learning, the following questions should be answered. What are the benefits of using the Internet as part of a university education? What are the main factors affecting such use? What is the impact of such use on student learning? What does it take to encourage positive attitudes in students toward Internet use? This study tries to answer these questions by exploring the antecedents to, and the impacts of, Internet use in university education. The specific objectives were to: â⬠¢Identify attitude of students toward IT. â⬠¢ Determine the purpose of internet usage for students. â⬠¢Find out the intensity of internet usage by students. Evaluate that whether the use of internet improve the academic performance of students or not. Significance of study This study could be beneficial for student as well as for institutions. The valuable feedback from 500 students should help student to realize the benefits of internet in their education. Institutes can invest more in internet facilities to enhance the performance of their students and produce better results. Based on Pakistanââ¬â¢s experience, international readers may take advantage from this study work. Literature review Advancement in technology brings major impacts on education.

The psychological operation that used in Panama can be classified as types of Strategic Psychological Operation. Strategic Psychological Operation were activities that by using the political, economic, military, sociological and psychological against any group in the country either friendly, neutral or hostile group.[1] The aim of Strategic Psychological Operation was must be related to the support of civil population. The operation can increase the morale of friendly groups and at the same time can gain the support from the neutrals side. The America has using the loudspeaker operation in intervene of Panama. Before the America troop attack the enemy the loudspeaker of America will carry out messages as below[2]: Message 1. Phase 1. Attention, attention, attention. Everyone clear the building. Lay down your weapons. Come out one at a time with your hands on your head and you wont get hurt. The building is surrounded. Message 1. Phase 2. Attention, attention, attention. Everyone in the building. You have 5 minutes to lay down your weapons and come out with your hands on your head. We intend to destroy the entire building and kill all of you in it unless you do as you are told. You cant escape. The building is surrounded. Dont die when you dont have to. Your five minutes has started. Why the America always have to give this two message before the troop start to attack the enemy? This is because America wanted to create a good image for them. Through the message carried out by the loudspeaker not even can hear by the enemy but by the population too. The messages can stressed the legitimacy of the America action because the population of Panama will think that America troop has given chance for the enemy to surrender before they take action. The America also had taken over of the TV2, which was the most population TV station in Panama.[3] By taken over the TV station the America can easily to take control of the media or news among the population. Besides that, America also have a poster which show that the Panamanians how to turn in their weapons. The application of the Strategic PSYOPs was to destroy the image and organization of the enemy. The psychological operation in Panama has aim to destroy the image of the Noriega, which force the population to accept him as a winner in the election. From one of application that use by the America was dissension and dissatisfaction between enemy leaders and the people.[6] The America has aim on this application to intervene on Panama and at the same time America can gain the support from the population that against the Noriega. From the operation of loudspeaker that carries out a message that America was take action because of justice of democracy. The Cartoon Propaganda in Newspaper also used to against Noriega. The America has using the Cartoon to create black propaganda against the Noriega. One of the cartoon with the title ââ¬Å"Church?â⬠has showed that the Noriega as the Devil hiding behind a Christian Cross.[7] This can be seen as a propaganda that creates by the America a gainst the population to believe that the Noriega was not a good leader. The America has influence the hearts and minds of the population either friendly, neutrals and the supporter of Noriega. The Strategy Psychological Operation was a long term of operation, so the effect of the Strategy was difficult to evaluate. The Operation Just Cause has been ended with the surrender of the Noriega which defeat by the PSYOPs of loud speaker with Rock Music. The America also win the hearts and mind of the population of Panama, if not they would not success in the operation. PSYOPs CAPABILITIES They are some capabilities of psychological operation that involve in the Panama. The capabilities that have in the Panama were create or destroy images, morale, keep public informed and undermine the enemy morale.[8] First create or destroy images, the image or moral of the person can be destroy by create some plan to exploiting the good or bad of the personnel. In the PSYOPs Panama the America has using the black propaganda against the Noriega, cartoon in the newspaper has destroy the images of the Noriega. Even the cartoon has been drew the Noriega as devil. Second morale of the people, the PSYOPs can use to change or improve the morale of the civilians by using the credible propaganda. There was a leaflet that use in the population was the tittle ââ¬Å"Lawâ⬠. The leaflet had asked the support for the democracy, respect the law and report the criminal act. This leaflet was tried to influence the people which may in the side of neutral, to make their attention on the democracy in Panama. At the same time it also can increase the morale of the anti-Noriega which they can gains more supportive of the population. Third keep public informed, the population must be keeping inform by the government about their objective or goals so can prove that they are carried the interest of the people and the nation. The loudspeaker and TV station has been use by the America to create their good image among the panama population. The America has told the population that because of the Noriega was not followed the democracy law, so he must be taken down. The America using the loudspeaker to act as they were the justice of democracy in Panama. Some of the leaflets also use to create a good image of America such as the leaflets with the title of ââ¬Å"Christmasâ⬠, the text was much happiness and was for all the children of Panama. America has very active in create a good image among the population, may be this was some lesson learn from them during in the Vietnam War. The forth was undermined the morale of the enemy, by pointing out the weaknesses of the enemy, a PSYOPs can easily to undermined the morale of the enemy. During the PSYOPs in Panama, in the final stage of Operation Just Cause there was a group of PYSOP troop played a rock music surrounded the Vatican Embassy which the Noriega taken refuge.[9] The music has been played 24 hour a day without stopping until Noriega cannot taken it anymore surrendered him selves. The PSYOPs that using the rock music to bombard has been successful to undermined the will of Noriega to continue the fight with America. The fifth was encourage the defections and surrenders, the enemy can be encourage to surrender if they are been subjected to PSYOPs for a long time. The leaflets with rewards for weapons were PSYOPs that use to encourage the enemy to surrender their weapons. With the high rewards for the surrender the weapons, it will be the interest for the enemy. The loudspeaker also been use to encourage the enemy surrender themselves before they been attack. Fat Vs Sugar Battle Of Two Evils English Language Essay
Fat Vs Sugar Battle Of Two Evils English Language Essay Fat makes you fat and sugar gives you diabetes. This is what usually comes to mind when we talk about fat and sugar. Being the harbinger of various life-threatening diseases, both are said to be the most dangerous ingredients of the modern diet. Many health conscious people have become so scared of fat and sugar that food manufacturers today slap the magic words Nonfat and Sugar free on their labels to ensure sales. Despite the slightly higher pricing, these fat and sugar free alternatives have evolved to become the healthier choices compared to their regular counterparts. But to set the records straight once and for all are sugar and fat both evil? Should we really keep ourselves away from them? If yes, then which one must be avoided even more? As a Matter of Fat Filipinos know that eating fatty food can lead to cardiovascular diseases, and yet we love lechon, chicharon, and all the oily goodness of other Pinoy dishes like crispy pata and sizzling sisig. Although it is true that fat content of most Pinoy dishes are of the bad kind, you should understand that not all fats are created the same. Fat isnt actually always bad. Its part of a healthy diet, providing you the essential fatty acids and energy for your daily activities. We need fat to aid in our digestion and excretion of wastes. It also keeps our hair and skin supple and healthy. Fat also helps you absorb fat-soluble vitamins like Vitamins A, D and E. There are four types of fat: monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, saturated and trans fats. The fats that have been reported to cause cardiovascular problems such as heart disease and hypertension are saturated fats and trans fats. Saturated fats can be found in animal fats, coconut oils, dairy products, and palm oils. Trans fats, on the other hand, are artificially developed fats manufactured to prolong shelf life of packed food like cookies, crackers, pastries and chips. These two types have given fat its evil reputation. But there are two other types of fat that actually contribute to good health. Polyunsaturated fats are found in common vegetable oils like soybean oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, walnuts and fish. Monounsaturated fats are found in olive oil, canola oil, avocados, almonds, peanuts cashews, and pecans. Both polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are two of the most misunderstood components of food today according to the International Food Information Councils 2008 study, 43% of Americans think that polyunsaturated fats are not heatlhy, while 38% of them feel the same way about monounsaturated fats. Whats the reason behind the bad reputation of fat? Many believe that our general perception of fat today is a product of several years of misleading and confusing information. Studies conducted before on saturated fat trans fat alarmed the government that in 1984, the National Institute of Health gave a recommendation to limit daily fat intake. This gave rise to an unpleasant public opinion on all types of fat making the word equivalent to something evil, something we should be wary of. Because people want to stop eating food with fat, the food industry started developing products that are being advertised as nonfat or fat free. What weight watchers dont know is that manufacturers substituted fat with sugar in order to make up for the compromised taste. We will discuss more about the effects of consuming food high in sugar later. Today, after several more studies and research that exonerate mono and polyunsaturated fats, the US Department of Agriculture now recommends that we get about 20% to 35% of our daily calorie intake from these good guys. The McKinley Health Center website mentions how crucial fat is for normal growth and development. The Harvard School of Public Health even states that good fats can contribute in lowering disease risk. Some nutritionists think that we should get more than 35% of our daily caloric intake from mono and polyunsaturated fats. According to nutrition consultant Heather Fleming, we should get two servings of the good types of fat per meal. Fleming recognizes the importance of healthy fats in reenergizing our bodys cells. New studies are also surfacing to debunk our previous misconceptions about saturated fat. According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, there is actually no significant evidence that links saturated fat with increased risk of heart disease, contrary to popular belief. Both conventional and holistic medicines are now considering meat and other sources of saturated fats to be actually good for our health. The bitter side of sugar Man-made sugar was never really a major part of human diet until the last few thousand years. Before that, we were happy getting our dose of sweetness from honeybees. Eventually we learned to manufacture sugar from sugarcane and sugar beets, then from corn and wheat. Sugar has become such a staple today that many people swear they could never enjoy most kinds of treats and drinks without it. In 1938, a study revealed that a person normally consumed about 16.3 kilograms, an equivalent study conducted after 50 years revealed that the per person consumption rose to 48.3 kilograms. This simply tells us that our generation is chugging in more sugar than any human being in history. Dont get confused. Although it is true that we need sugar to keep our blood levels in check, many people do not know that all the carbohydrates that we eat are broken down into sugar already. This means, we do not need to take in more sugar anymore. There is no extra benefit in adding a teaspoonful of it on our cup of coffee except for making our drink taste sweeter. So what happens to the extra sugar that we take in from the desserts and beverages that we enjoy on a daily basis? Just like any other turbo charged machine, our bodys natural hormonal responses go to hyper drive when we have too much of it. High sugar intake makes us produce more of the hormone insulin. Insulin manages our sugar levels and stores excess of it into fat for future consumption. The more sugar you bring in, the more insulin is released and the more fat is stored. So dont ever wonder why you keep packing on pounds if youre a full fledged sweet tooth. Excess sugar in your diet also results to Type II diabetes, iron and magnesium deficiencies, sleeplessness, digestive problems, arthritis, obesity and other debilitating health conditions. Whats even more dangerous about consuming sugar is that, unlike fat, there is currently no upper limit established for its intake. According to the 2002 review by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academies of Science Institute of Medicine review of scientific literature, there was no adverse health effects related to sugar intake. Until today, nutrition labels are still not required to list an upper limit for daily sugar intake. Only those of total fat, saturated fat, sodium and cholesterol are required to be listed, based on standard 2000 and 2500 calorie diet per day. Until sugar intake limits are set, the rise in incidences of Type II diabetes, obesity and other sugar-related disorders can be expected to rise. Fat versus Sugar Now, after all that has been said about fat and sugar, do you know which one is more evil? Which one does more harm than good to our body? If you weigh the pros and cons presented earlier, youll agree with the experts: the answer is sugar. If you arent really convinced yet, heres a summary of why it is so: We already get the sugar we need from carbohydrates. Any additional sugar we take in will only cause nasty side effects on our health. Fat, on the other hand, is needed by the body to function well. People who love eating sugar-laden processed food and drinks tend to consume more calories than those who dont. This is because sugar acts like drug, it makes one want to crave more while he/she is getting it. This causes a person to consume lots of calories, more than what is required everyday. Sugary foods bring the body under constant stress, according to nutrition consultant Heather Fleming, subjecting it into sudden surges of energy. These surges, also known as the sugar rush, are followed by episodes of low energy. Added sugar provides empty calories meaning there are no additional nutrients gained. Fat, on the other hand, is nutrient dense, so consuming a small amount of it will result in satisfaction of cravings. This makes you want to eat less often and have your fill with smaller portions. Refined sugar is not a natural form of food, just like trans fats. Our body is not meant to break down artificial substances. Good fats, including saturated fats, have been present in the human diet for thousands of years already and our body knows how to digest this. Sugar is not part of the Food Pyramid, fat is. This alone indicates that adding artificial sugar on food is not part of a healthy diet. Its a kind of junk food. Eat Fat, Avoid Sugar So what should you do to stay healthy? Heed the warning of experts steer away from adding refined sugar on your food as much as possible! You may not notice its detrimental effects yet, but you will in the long run. Eat balanced meals according to the Food Pyramid and include hefty servings of mono and polyunsaturated fat sources like nuts, avocados, and fish. Include animal meat as part of your meal, but of course, watch your servings. Anything taken in moderation is okay, but if you eat too much of even the good stuff, youll just increase your calorie intake and gain weight eventually. Avoid trans fats found in packed pastries, cookies and chips. You actually resort to quick fixes like packed cookies if you fail to plan your meals ahead. Stock your kitchen shelves with fresh fruits and preservative-free snacks to keep you from craving trans fatty food. If you want bread and pastries, opt for freshly baked ones or better yet, bake it yourself. Read labels before buying food and drinks, especially bottled fruit juices and vitamin waters that pack in loads of sugar. As mentioned earlier, many nonfat or fat free products that are supposedly healthier usually compensate lost taste with sugar so make sure you avoid them as well. Refrain from drinking soda as this comes with several servings of sugar in every cup. If you love drinking soda and cant do away with it, at least choose a sugar free variant. However, be warned that sugar substitutes like aspartame, saccharin, acesulfame potassium, and sucralose are also artificially manufactured substances just like refined sugar itself so use them sparingly. Instead of eating lots of nonfat or sugar free food, nutritionists advise that we learn to control ourselves and eat smaller portions of regular food. For example, instead of indulging on 3 or 4 tablespoons of fat free peanut butter that doesnt really taste as good as the real thing, why not use 1 tablespoon of regular peanut butter instead? Remember, fat gives you the feeling of satisfaction faster than sugar, so you end up eating less. Stay away from artificial ingredients in general since your body is not meant to consume them anyway. Try to take in natural and organic food from crops that have been grown and harvested without the use of commercial pesticides and fertilizers and youll reap the benefits later on. Summary of Metamorphosis :: Gregor Samsa
Gregor Samsa awakes one morning to find that he has been inexplicably transformed into a giant insect. He has also slept late. His parents and his sister Grete try to rouse him so he can make it to his dreary job as a traveling salesman. The family depends on him for its livelihood. Gregor, however, is now a bug. When a clerk from his company comes to demand an explanation for his absence, Gregor makes a great effort to open the bedroom door and show himself. This sends the terrified clerk tearing down the stairwell and Gregor's family into shock. Grete, more than his father or mother, handles the situation practically. Gregor is fed, and his room is cleaned. Before long, however, economic reality requires all three to find work, and less attention is paid to Gregor--except when he gets out of his room. No one in the family is fully able to reconcile him- or herself to the insect Gregor, and Gregor is unable to express himself to his family. The fear and disgust his presence inspires (the irrational fear of the mammoth cockroach) is a detriment to his mother's health and incites his father to brief fits of violence. One such fit, a bombardment of fruit, deals Gregor a deep and crippling wound. Hobbled and neglected, Gregor begins to waste away in his room. The family takes in three carping lodgers, using Gregor's room to store excess furniture and other miscellanea--adding insult to injury. Yet the family does leave Gregor's door slightly open in the evenings, so that he may take part in the household in a small way. One evening, the lodgers hear Grete practicing her violin. They call her into the parlor for a concert. She obliges, and the music so moves Gregor that he creeps out into the parlor towards her, wanting to convey that he understands her gift and will help it to blossom. The lodgers see Gregor and immediately give notice. This is the breaking point for the family. Grete declares that they must abandon the notion that this hideous bug is their dear Gregor. All sadly agree. Gregor slinks back into his room. He dies that night. A great weight has been lifted from the family. After a moment of mourning, the father demands that the lodgers leave immediately. The family takes a trolley out of the city and into the countryside. It is a beautiful, sunny day, and as Grete stretches out her limbs in the trolley car, her parents' thoughts turn to finding her a husband.

Court System Structure
The state court system and the federal court system have similar codes of conduct, but they do have their differences. The state court system hears way more cases than the federal courts, and get more personally involved due to the issues being right in their own backyard. The state of California has 58 superior courts (trial courts) which reside in each of the 58 counties. It is here where any, and all, issues pertaining to civil and criminal cases, as well as family, probate, and juvenile cases are heard. This is where the bulk of Californiaââ¬â¢s judiciary justice is served. If a case is appealed it is taken up the ladder to one of Californiaââ¬â¢s six Courts of Appeal. According to courtinfo. ca. gov (2011), ââ¬Å"The State legislature divided the state geographically into six appellate districts, each containing a Court of Appeal. â⬠(About California Courts, para. 2). The Supreme Court of California sits at the apex of authority in the state's judicial system (courtinfo. a. gov, 2011). Cases that have been questioned in the Court of Appeal must be reviewed by the Supreme Court, as well as any case in which a trial court has issued the death penalty. The federal court system has a similar structure to the state court system. The lowest level is the federal district court. The district court hears the civil and criminal cases that pertain to the potential unconstitutionality or impartiality of a specific state court. Federal accusations of fraud and drug crimes can also be seen here. The next level, similar to the state court system, is the U. S. Court of Appeals. This is the intermediary appellate court level where cases that have been appealed are reviewed. Atop this is the United States Supreme Court, the highest form of authority in the country. It is here where few cases are officially sent to trial, but instead cases may be reviewed by one or a group of the justices and sent back down the line.

Priciple in health and social care Essay
To understand how principle of support are implemented in health and social care practice it starts from analysing equal opportunities ,independence , individuality respect ,partnership and having a lot of respect for different cultures and value also providing care support and a lot of attention for individual for friends and family . Also understanding how the principle of support are implemented in health and social care involved a lot of confidentiality (policies about sharing information) supporting different preferences wishes and special needs , respect for the privacy of a person and dignity. Another aspect of the principle of support in health and social care is protection from risk and harm, assessing risk to self and others, right of the individual to take their own risk. The principle of support is vital to a successful health and social care settings The meaning of the word (principle) can describe the moral rule, a constant regulation of behaviour accordingly to moral law .The principle of support is essential in health and social care organisations, as part of a well, prosper services. Before choosing the right health and social care services people usually check the standards and the quality of the provider. This is a very important aspect because this assure them if the quality of the services they will get will satisfy their needs, like getting a better treatment and a better caring for themselves, family and friends. In some countries the governments are actively helping the citizen for getting a better health and social care services and they make sure the cit izen gets the best support on the social care sector. The social support is another type of health and social care support which is related to the person health. For understanding how principle of support are implemented in health and social care practice its essential to specify the procedures for protecting clients , patients and colleagues from risk and harm. There are many types of harm like physical abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse ,sexual abuse .In health and social care settings we could see those type of abuses. Before the procedure of protecting the clients, patients and colleagues from harm we need to recognise the risk and we should know how to respond to it. Each type of abuse against clients, patients and colleagues need to be first recognised and after that proceed for protection. Once we identify the sign of the type harm the next step will be to start protecting the person by following some simple steps accordingly to the situation and take the responsibility for this harm not happening again. Depends on the circumstances and depends on the type of harm caused the person in charge will proceed and follow the necessary steps to assure the protection of the abused(harm) person. In the social care settings we could face different type of harm and risk If we are talking about the harm against a person that is could be a clien ts ,colleagues , patients like for example a vulnerable patient that is being emotionally abused by a member of staff .The person that will notice the harm (abuse ) should take first step in informing the person in charge .The person that report that should have a strong evidence about that .For instance in this example if there is an emotional abuse it may cause the patient physiological trauma, including anxiety or chronic depression. There are also some kind a risk in health and social care settings like in any organisation. If we are talking about the risk in health and social care settings we should start by referring to the meaning of the word risk .The risk is a chance, high or low that someone will be harmed by a hazard. There are hazard from equipment, from infection, from physical environment. The person-centred approach talks about the people perspective and what is important for them .If we are trying to see the benefits of following a person ââ¬âcentred approach with users of health and social care services, then first aspect would be to open up to the opportunity that the person centred could offer. The person-centred its talking from the perspective of the person and what could be important for him/her. This means that they are listening to each person and help them to live the lives they choose by working close with their families and friends. In determining what constitutes an ethical dilemma it is necessary to make a distinction between ethics values, morals laws and policies. Ethics rely on logical and rational criteria to reach a decision and essentially cognitive process (Loewenberg and Harrington) Robinson and Reeser 2002. It is also essential that the distinction to be made between personal and professional ethics and values (Congress 1999, Wilshere 1997) The health and social care worker encounter a complex situation when working with individual, families, groups and communities. There could arise dilemmas and conflicts that have a strong ethical dimension. The dilemmas and conflict arise from the tension between rights and responsibilities between risk and protection, between assessed needs and available resources. On the other hand the legislation, regulation and policies are influencing our own work in health and social care .All the personal in health and social care should follow the legislation, the policies and procedures that protect the employees and the one using this services .For example the Health and safety work Act 1974 is essential to be respected because it helps protecting others from harm and risk that could take place at the workplace. All the regulation and code practices are essential to maintain the safety and to help employee create a good environment in work place .Policies and procedures provide those basic infrastructure for a quality covering all aspects of work. The policies needs to be reviewed on a regular basis and updated where is necessary .For example if there is a change in the equipment or workplace it will be necessary to improve those policies. When the policies, regulation and the codes of practice change and the organisation needs to adapt it will always be employees that will not be satisfy with the new changes. The policies, code of practice are usually the guide of a company and it communicates to the employees what its wrong and what is right. This has a positive role on the organisation if all the employees will follow and keep the policy and regulations as a main guide in the work place. All of this policies, legislation, regulation and code ofà practice will be helpful to strengthen the relationship between the organisation and all those involved directly or indirectly in its activities. Respecting all of this it could result in higher performance and profits for the organisation. On the other hand there could be negative impact as well because of some employees that will not agree with the policies, code practice and other legislation set by the government and follow by the organisation. The set of policies and code of practice in the health and social care settings are strongly impacted by the legislation or regulation set by the government.
